The point is to strain your back as less as possible.  Further, avoid sitting for long hours; instead, do stretch once every few hours. Lift heavy items in a proper fashion to keep the load in your backbone to the minimum. Practicing yoga, aerobics, or pilates help to remedy the back pain.
