Thai Boxing Teaches Women Self-Defense and Helps to Lose Weight

Off late, many women want to not only appear fit but also become  self sufficient in self-defense. This combination of fitness and self-defense makes women to feel more confident in their daily lives. Self-defense is an essential part of city life where women tend to work into late evenings and frequently travel short and long distances alone.

However, for anyone who has chosen kickboxing, it helps to lose weight. One can lose weight faster in Thai Boxing than by doing classical aerobics. Difference between kickboxing and Thai boxing is that Thai boxing improves skills of self-defense, because, it is more kind of hand-to-hand fight. Moreover, rules are less rigid in Thai boxing.

How long it takes

Most beginners question the time it is necessary to see result. In 1 -2 months of consistent practice, one will see results and feels more confident due to ability to protect against adversaries. In six months, one can go out alone without fear. Within few years of practice, one can participate and win city competitions, if one engaged with the professional coach.

Keep it going

Nonetheless, many women throw boxing or fitness as soon as they feel the first positive changes in their body and consider that they already are able to fight good enough to show the skills.  Albeit, one should not opt for quick results, rather, should strive to achieve proficiency in the chosen game. As one progress and learn advanced skills, things start to change and become more easy to learn. Once the initial tough phase is over, the learning of boxing becomes a pleasure and enjoyable.
